Hooked on Fishing is more than just a program to keep kids busy.... it is engaging the kids in ways that they want to go out on their own and explore. The very best way to do this is by giving the kids new experiences. Today a small group of us got out and went clamming in Strathmere... Ended up with 307 clams total! A huge shout out to Jason at Killer Clam Rakes for letting us try out some of the amazing Rakes those guys make... Check them out on Facebook and show them some love!

Rowbo Boat is an automated survey boat the kids have been working on this year. The goal of this project was to build a boat that can go through all sorts of material (weeds and Lilly pads), and produce highly detailed underwater maps of lakes and ponds. Here is the maiden voyage of the new design. It has a top speed of about 15mph, and can cruise at 5mph for about 6 hours. Eventually it will have a side scan Sonar that is able to make super high resolution images of the bottom and structure on it. STEAM at its finest!

Nothing is better in the summertime than exploring with kids! Today the Millville PAL hooked on fishing group went to Port Norris to help build reef bags, and stopped at Moores Beach to do some exploring! There are amazing untapped activities here in Cumberland County... get out and enjoy nature and sunshine!

Nothing better after a ton of hard work by these kids than a nice relaxing trip down the Maurice River spotting eagles and ospreys perched in their nests!
